Laubach Literacy New Brunswick

Become a Volunteer Tutor

Volunteer tutors are the heart and soul of Laubach Literacy New Brunswick! Our tutors are trained to work one-to-one with adults who would like to improve their basic literacy skills. The free, confidential program is offered throughout the province.

Interested in becoming a Laubach Literacy tutor? New tutors are always welcome! Our tutors include men and women of all ages from many different backgrounds. These volunteers are committed to helping others and are truly changing lives!

Those who sign up to become a tutor take part in training offered by Laubach Literacy New Brunswick. It includes an orientation to literacy issues and 20 hours of basic tutor training. Tutors then have access to a variety of teaching and learning materials, as well as ongoing support from an LLNB Tutor Coordinator in their region.

Laubach Literacy New Brunswick expects volunteer tutors who complete the tutor training to work with an adult student for up to four hours per week for one year. They must also agree to maintain confidentiality regarding their student.
