Laubach Literacy begin in Canada in 1970 with the first tutor-training workshop held in the Maritimes. The first Laubach Council was formed right here in Saint John, New Brunswick in 1975. After more than a decade of pioneering work, Laubach Literacy New Brunswick (LLNB) was formed in the early 1980’s.

 

LLNB has a provincial Board of volunteers from business and the community. This Board governs the actions and interests of LLNB as a provincial organization, determining its strategic direction, and monitoring its operational finances and activities in relation to the defined strategy. Board committees are formed as needed to provide advice or support for LLNB’s operation/administration or for short-term projects.

LLNB is staffed by a full time Executive Director and a full time Training and Quality Assurance Coordinator (TQAC). The Executive Director reports directly to the Board and in addition to being the public face of LLNB, is responsible for all operational aspects of the organization. The TQAC reports to the Executive Director and is responsible to ensure that all training programs meet LLNB rigorous quality standards.
